Former Cal golfer Collin Morikawa had a strong first-round Thursday in Wilmington, Delaware, putting him in a position to challenge

for this week's BMW Championship title and qualify for next weekend's Tour Championship.

Morikawa shot a 4-under-par 67 on the Wilmington Country Club South Course to finish three shots behind first-round leader Keegan Bradley.
