Will Zalatoris had to withdraw from the BMW Championship last weekend due to a back injury.

At the time, he was atop the FedExCup Playoffs standings thanks to a win at St. Jude Championship.

It was announced on Tuesday that Zalatoris will not be able to compete in the Tour Championship this week.

back injury is still bothering too much him. Allen Hobbs issued a statement Tuesday on behalf of Zalatoris.

"Following Will Zalatoris on Saturday withdrawal from the BMW Championship, his medical team  the source of his back pain was two herniated discs," said Hobbs.

“Unfortunately, this means that Will cannot play in the Tour Championship this week. Golf fans are feeling awful about Zalatoris this Tuesday,

and understandably so. “This is for Will Zalatoris, who finally got a breakthrough win and now has missed a chance at a huge FedEx Cup

and Presidents Cup payday,” one person said. "I saw this coming but it's still such a bummer," another person wrote.
