Jon Rahm on Tour's new 20-tournament rule: 'A bit of asking' for Europeans
"Do we have to play them all?"Who, like the other Europeans asked John Rahm,
must also play four DP World Tour minor events to meet tour membership requirements and remain eligible for the Ryder Cup.
When they said yes, Rahm continued: “If we have to play all 20, then yes, 100% [it would be a lot to ask of the Europeans].
I wouldn't be surprised if that changed because it puts me in a difficult position. If I go to play in Europe in the fall,
as I am going to do, I have to play 20 times from January to August. … So yeah, especially with the Ryder Cup and having to play four in Europe,
yeah, I think it's a bit of an ask and I wouldn't be surprised if they tweaked the rule a little bit or made an exception for some players.
“But if they're doing it for players like me and Rory [McIlroy], they might have to do it for everybody.
By comparison, McIlroy has made 14 starts on Tour this year to complement two starts at the start of the year at the DPWT,
