Jordan Montgomery writes the history of the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees looks really bad.

Jordan Montgomery should never have been traded this season. He did well with the New York Yankees but was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals for Harrison Bader.

Louis Cardinals, where he has already made history. The 29-year-old has been a godsend for the Cardinals' ailing rotation.

Originally built with a mix of veterans, free agents, and a few young guns, the addition of Montgomery appears to be one of the wisest decisions of all that St. Louis did.

Meanwhile, the Yankees don't look good enough to decide to trade him. this season Montgomery was 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 21 starts for the Yankees.

A high number of non-decisions is unusual. However, it's hard to say he was someone the team needed to trade.

Bader is on IL so he has yet to play a game for them. Perhaps the most painful of all, the player they traded to replace Montgomery on the roster had a terrible Yankees debut.

The Yankees added and subtracted from their rotation at this year's trade deadline by trading Montgomery and bringing in Frankie Montas.
