Guardians of the Galaxy star Karen Gillan has landed her next starring role in the upcoming comedy Late Bloomers.

There he befriends an elderly Polish lady (played by Margaret Sophie Stein) who doesn't speak a word of English.

This unexpected friendship gives Louise the courage to face what she has been avoiding all along: her mother's Alzheimer's disease.

while Kevin Nealon (Saturday Night Live) and Talia Balsam (Mad Men) will play her parents. Late Bloomers is directed by Lisa Steen

and written by Anna Greenfield, who loosely based the story on her own experiences living in Brooklyn in her 20s.

Although no release date has been announced, production in Brooklyn has already ended. Gillan can currently be seen reprising her role as Nebula in Thor: Love and Thunder

and will do so again in the Disney+ holiday special this December as well as the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie next year.

In May, the Jumanji star teased that the third installment of the Marvel franchise could be the end of Nebula's story.
