FIFA World Cup 2022: Distraught Neymar leaves in tears after an ankle injury in 2-0 win over Serbia.

Neymar's frustration with his pre-tournament injury struggles has become a regular feature. The talismanic Brazil striker injured his back at the 2014 World Cup,

broke his leg ahead of Russia 2018, and limped off the Lusail Stadium with his ankle in a brace after a second-half collision.

Manchester United winger Antony replaced Neymar in the 80th minute of Brazil's win over Serbia. A distraught Neymar was left in tears as he was treated on the bench.

Concerns over the extent of his injury soon subsided as the player walked out of the stadium without crutches or a protective boot.

As reported by the BBC Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said: "Neymar has trauma to his right ankle, because of the impact he had on the knee of the players of Serbia,

We have to wait 24 to 48 hours for physiotherapy. We didn't schedule an MRI and will have another scan tomorrow.

Neymar felt pain during the match but decided to stay on the pitch to help his team. So it is remarkable that he was able to endure this pain and continue to play for his team.
